Johns Lennons Philosophy was secular humanism. This is a belief that reject's traditional religion by asking the one question that everyone wants to know is that all there is in life they believe that there is no such thing as spirit they feel that people are responsible for there own actions and behivories. Websters Dictonary definies secular humanism as:Secular. “Pertaining to the world or things not spiritual or sacred.”Humanism. “Any system of thought or action concerned with the interests or ideals of people … the intellectual and cultural movement … characterized by an emphasis on human interests rather than … religion.” most humanists are athesists or agnostics. they believe in the scientific method to the world and life.they do not believe in any after life or extence after death. there concepts of bad or wrongdoing are explained though psychology and scientific methods. The American humanist association endorses elective abortion other views they work on would be equality for homosexuals gender equality a secular approach to divorce and remarriage working to stop poverty and keeping the environment clean. John Lennon demonstrated his believe in secular humanism though the words in his very popular song Imagine made in 1971 which is still relevant today. in this song he imagined his ideal view of life with these words:
"Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace...
